A measured path from vision to garden.
We do not operate on a production schedule. Each project receives the time it requires. The result of this patience is a garden that feels right rather than merely finished.
Observe
The land speaks first.
Before we draw a line, we listen. A site visit — ideally across two or three seasons — reveals what numbers on a survey cannot: how morning light falls across the garden, where pooling water creates opportunity, the existing plants and trees worth preserving, the views worth framing. We arrive with notebooks, not laptops.
Design
Translating feeling into form.
From our observations and your aspirations, a design emerges. We produce scaled drawings, plant palettes, material specifications, and a phased implementation plan. The design document is meant to be consulted over years — a long-term roadmap rather than a contract. We revise and refine until every element feels inevitable.
Build
Craft at every scale.
Installation is methodical and supervised. Hardscape is laid on engineered bases; trees are hand-selected and installed with root systems intact; every planting hole receives appropriate soil amendment. Our crews are experienced, unhurried, and take genuine pride in the quality of their work. We communicate frequently and transparently throughout.
Establish
The garden begins its life.
A planted garden is not a finished garden. The first two years are a critical establishment period during which roots deepen, plants settle, and the design reveals its full character. We monitor, adjust, replace losses, and return each spring to assess how the garden is developing. We remain available by phone and email indefinitely for any question that arises.
What we believe about gardens
Patience is a design tool.
The best plants take years to reach their intended form. We design for the garden at year ten, not year one.
Craft outlives trends.
We use natural materials that age beautifully. No concrete pavers that chalks and cracks; no composite materials that never look right.
Ecology and beauty are the same.
A garden that supports birds, bees, and beneficial insects is healthier, more resilient, and more beautiful than one that merely looks tidy.
One garden at a time.
We limit our annual intake of new projects to ensure every client receives the attention their property deserves.
